BACKGROUND :

Kilombero Organization for Community Development (KOCD) is a women lead an independent registered non-government organization with Registration number 00NGO/00106  based in Ifakara, Tanzania. Since 2005 the organization has addressed most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Tanzania in sectors related to education, health & hygiene, emergency response & preparedness, good governance, human rights, natural resource management/environment, agriculture and food security. More than eleven projects have been implemented and completed successfully with support from different donor including Forum Syd Swedish (FCS), JUKWAA LA KATIBA, Union of Non-Government Organization (UNGO), PANITA, Local Government Authorities, Ministry of community development gender elderly and children, TWAWEZA, PLAN international, MJUMITA, AFRICARE TANZANIA, EAMCEF and USAID. The type of activities undertaken by the organization range from capacity building to service delivery, with focus remaining on the deprived and marginalized segments of the society especially youth and women.
